Sal is a self taught artist who gathers his subject material from magazines, websites and his photos. He loves to capture the fun and colour of his subjects. His paintings reflect his love for wildlife and though he paints for his own enjoyment, he has done commission pieces.
He started his fascination in art while at Central Technical School taking architectural rendering which soon led him to India inks, charcoals, colour pencils and in later years began watercolours and finally oils on canvas.
As a member of Beaux-Arts Brampton, Sal is inspired by the creativity of his fellow artists and enjoys ongoing workshops to improve his craft and share the artist experience with others.
One of his pieces was selected to be displayed at the Open Juried Wildlife Nature & Native Show 2010, judged by Charles Pachter, Daphne Odjig and Steve Wilson.
He presently displays his work in the Upper Hall Gallery at Beaux-Arts.
