Haydee McFarland is a multi-talented designer. Her experience in the fashion industry extends from Florence, Italy where she studied fashion design, to selling her creations in India, the Middle East and more recently, Canada. Fickle Fibres is Haydee’s latest adventure in fibre art. Her fascination with feltmaking is fuelled by the sustainability and renewability of the raw materials – wool fibres, and the simplicity of the felting process itself – the laying out of fibres, physical agitation with soap and water and the unpredictable and organic outcome of each piece. The challenge of the creative, focused work required to develop her unique range of felted fashion accessories helps channel her passion for design, resulting in beautiful one-of-a-kind wearable art.
