Artist Statement: Art for me is a mystically magical journey of self awareness and discovery. Part of the magic is "THE MYSTERY" What we are; Where we came from; and Where do we go? The conflict within, encouraging me to create these works. I translate my spiritual and worldly experiences into images through various media and techniques. Using symbols, words and images in bold colors, I like to work with Acrylic Colors as well as Water and Oil Colors. Meditation enables me to transform a landscape into the intangibles of the visual message.
I may be inspired by the creation of nature, but my intention is to render it in its simplest, most exciting colors and shapes to convey personal emotions and experiences.

Jay jaswant earned a Degree in Painting at the College of Art, Chandigarh. Upon graduation, Jay lectured for the Government Polytechnic in Ambala City. Before leaving for Nepal where, in the mid-eighties, he spent several years painting large murals and paintings for prominent five-star hotels in and around Kathmandu.
In the late eighties he went to East Africa where he painted African wildlife in watercolors, acrylic and oil.
Jay has exhibited in over 50 solo, group and art exhibitions throughout India, Kenya, Canada, UK and USA.
He has received several awards. His paintings are included in the permanent collections of Galleries, Museums and private collectors throughout the globe.
